Here is a list of some of the most frequently asked questions about the Nexus card.

Am I eligible to participate in the NEXUS program?

The Nexus card is available for Canadian and US citizens and permanent residents.

How long is the Nexus card valid for?

The Nexus card is valid for 5 years. You can renew your Nexus card 3 months before its expiration date.

Can I fill out one application form for the whole family?

There is no family application form. You must fill out a separate for each member of your family including children and infants.

If I have a NEXUS card, can my children cross with me in the NEXUS lane?

Children and even newborn infants must have their own NEXUS card in order to use the NEXUS lane. All children under 18 are exempt from all fees.

What are the NEXUS fees?

We charge a fee of $149.99 to review and submit your documents for government approval. Additionally, there is a background and security check fee of $50 for adults only.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind?

You can get a refund if you have not yet sent in your application form to us. Please see our Terms and Conditions for more info.

How long will it take to get a NEXUS card?

Generally, it takes up to 3 months to receive a Nexus card.

How do I book my Nexus interview?

Once we have submitted your application, we will send you an email with instructions how to enter your profile and schedule an interview at an enrollment center of your choice.

What can I expect at a NEXUS interview?

Most of the questions you will be asked at the NEXUS interview are similar to those you answered on the application form. You can read more about the NEXUS interview here.

Can I apply for a NEXUS card with an offence?

Yes you can, however, you may be denied a Nexus card. Your chances are good if you committed the offence more than 10 years ago and/or you obtained a pardon for it.

What are the reasons for being denied a Nexus card?

The reasons for denial can vary. If you failed to provide complete and truthful information on you application form, or you made a mistake in entering your data, you might be denied. Other reasons for denial are a past conviction, non-compliance with customs or immigration laws. You can object your denial with the Nexus Ombudsman.

How do I update my passport/address/car info once I have my NEXUS card?

You should visit one of the enrollment centers on either side of the US-Canada border or change it online using the information provided in the email we sent to you.

What happens if I have lost my Nexus card?

In case your card is lost or stolen, you should visit one of the Nexus enrollment centers and report your loss. You will be issued a replacement for a small fee.

How do I renew my Nexus card?

You can renew your Nexus card in the same way that you applied for your first card.

There is no need to go via PayPal to get your refund - this will be a lot slower and can take up to several weeks if you make a chargeback.

Please note we refund in full for applications not submitted or processed.
